Breads, Biscuits, and Rolls

Banana Bread - Donna Siddoway
Ingredients:
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 t. salt
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 t. soda
- 2 eggs
- 2 c. flour
- 3 mashed bananas
- 1 t. vanilla

Instructions:
Cream sugar, shortening, eggs, and bananas. Add dry ingredients. Stir in vanilla. Bake 1 hour at 350°F.


Kentucky Biscuits - Donna Siddoway
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1 1/2 t. salt
- 1 T. sugar
- 1 T. baking powder
- 2/3 c. milk
- 1/3 c. shortening

Instructions:
Mix dry ingredients. Add milk, then shortening. Knead, shape, and bake at 425°F for 10–13 mins.


Onion Bread - Jan Barnes
Ingredients:
- 1 onion
- 2 t. salt
- 1 cube butter
- 2 c. hot water
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 2 T. yeast
- 6–7 c. flour

Instructions:
Sauté onion in butter. Mix with water, sugar, salt. Add yeast. Mix in flour. Let rise. Bake at 400°F until golden.


Orange Rolls - Donna Siddoway
Ingredients:
- 1/2 c. margarine
- 1 t. orange peel
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 pkg refrigerator biscuits

Instructions:
Mix ingredients. Dip biscuits in mixture. Bake in bundt pan at 350°F for 30 mins.


Butterflake Rolls - Donna Siddoway
Ingredients:
- 1/4 c. water
- 2 pkg yeast
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. melted shortening
- 1 c. warm water
- 3 eggs
- 4 1/2 c. flour
- 2 t. salt

Instructions:
Mix and refrigerate overnight. Roll, fold with butter. Cut, dip, and rise 2 hrs. Bake 10 mins at 400°F.


Sour Cream Orange Rolls - Donna Siddoway
Ingredients:
- 1 pkg yeast
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 1 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 c. sour cream
- 2 eggs
- 3 1/2 c. flour
- 1 c. butter
- 1/2 t. salt
- 1 orange

Instructions:
Make dough, let rise, roll, spread butter + orange sugar, shape crescents. Let rise, bake at 350°F for 20 mins. Glaze.


Spudnuts - Clark Siddoway
Ingredients:
- 1 T. yeast
- 1 T. sugar
- 1 c. warm water
- 1 1/2 c. mashed potatoes
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 8 t. shortening
- 1 qt milk
- 2 t. salt
- 4 eggs
- 12–17 c. flour

Instructions:
Let yeast rise. Mix dough. Shape donuts, let rise. Fry until golden.


Corn Bread - Donna Siddoway
Ingredients:
- 1 c. cornmeal
- 1 c. flour
- 3 1/2 t. baking powder
- 2 T. sugar
- 1 t. salt
- 1 egg
- 1 c. milk
- 1/2 c. melted shortening

Instructions:
Mix dry ingredients. Add egg, milk, shortening. Bake at 425°F for 30 mins.


Breakfast Rolls - Suzanne Siddoway
Ingredients:
- 17 frozen rolls
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 1 pkg butterscotch pudding (not instant)
- 1/2 c. nuts

Instructions:
Melt butter + sugar in pan. Add nuts. Layer rolls + pudding. Let rise overnight. Bake at 350°F for 25–30 mins.


Pumpkin Roll - Donna Siddoway
Ingredients:
- 3 eggs
- 1 c. sugar
- 2/3 c. pumpkin
- 1 t. lemon juice
- 3/4 c. flour
- 1/2 t. nutmeg
- 1 t. baking powder
- 1 t. cinnamon
- 1 t. ginger

Instructions:
Mix and bake at 375°F for 12 mins. Cool and roll in powdered-sugar towel.


Kyle's Delight - Kyle Siddoway
Ingredients:
- 2 c. brown sugar
- 2 T. cinnamon
- 2 cubes butter
- 2 pkgs rolls

Instructions:
Mix butter, sugar, cinnamon. Place rolls over mixture. Bake at 350°F. Invert to serve.


Rhodes Oven Breadsticks - Suzanne Siddoway
Ingredients:
- 1/2 c. melted butter
- raised bread dough
- garlic salt
- parmesan

Instructions:
Slice dough, roll in butter, season. Bake at 400°F for 6–10 mins.
