Chocolate Chip Cookies - Kathryn Siddoway
Ingredients:
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 cups flour
- chocolate chips.
Instructions:
Cream butter and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix dry ingredients. Add chocolate chips. Scoop and bake at 350°F until golden brown.
Refrigerator Oatmeal Cookies
Ingredients:
- 1 cup shortening
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 cup water
- 3 1/2 cups flour
- 1 tsp soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 4 cups oats.
Instructions:
Cream shortening and sugars. Add eggs, vanilla, water. Add dry ingredients and oats. Chill dough. Shape into balls and flatten. Bake at 375°F for 8–10 minutes.
Oreo Cookies
Ingredients:
- 2 chocolate cake mixes
- 4 eggs
- 2/3 cup shortening.
Filling:
1 pkg cream cheese
- 1/2 cup margarine
- 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla.
Instructions:
Mix cookies, bake at 350°F for 8–10 minutes. Mix filling. Let cookies cool, spread filling, and sandwich together.
Snickerdoodles
Ingredients:
- 1 cup shortening
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 3/4 cups flour
- 2 tsp cream of tartar
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt. Roll in: 2 tbsp sugar + 2 tsp cinnamon.
Instructions:
Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs. Mix dry ingredients. Shape into balls and roll in cinnamon-sugar mix. Bake at 400°F for 8–10 minutes.
Oatmeal Cookies - Jan Barnes
Ingredients:
- 1 cup shortening
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1.5 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 cups oats.
Instructions:
Cream together shortening and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix in dry ingredients and oats. Drop onto sheet and bake at 350°F for 10–12 minutes.
Ginger Snaps - Suzanne Siddoway
Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1 egg
- 2 cups flour
- 2 tsp soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp cloves
- 1 tsp ginger.
Instructions:
Cream shortening and sugar. Add molasses and egg. Mix dry ingredients. Roll into balls, dip in sugar. Bake at 375°F for 10–12 minutes.
No Bake Cookies - Jan Barnes
Ingredients:
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/4 cup cocoa
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 3 cups oats.
Instructions:
Boil sugar, cocoa, milk, and butter for 1 minute. Remove from heat and add peanut butter, vanilla, and oats. Drop onto wax paper.

- 1 1/2 cups flour.
Instructions:
Cream margarine, shortening, and sugars. Add peanut butter, egg, and vanilla. Add dry ingredients. Shape, flatten with fork, bake at 375°F.
